Design The design was very good realized. Both visual appearance and technical function were impressing. Both the sample cell and the instrument suited their purposes well. One example of good design was a small fan that increased convection in the measurement cell. The software of the device was quite satisfying. It was possible to choose different measurement modes, either continuous or terminated when adjustable criteria (change in aw per minute) was reached. An extrapolating result calculation that worked better than expected was also included. Manual No manual was submitted by the Swedish agent. After request, however, a dense information sheet in English was submitted. A better manual in English was found at this internet address: http://www.rotronic-usa.com/datasheets/manuals.htm. Calibration Calibration was easily performed by pushing buttons according to description in the manual. Measurement results The measurements were easily accomplished and gave stable results as seen in the diagram, below. Other The main disadvantage with this instrument was caused by decreasing battery voltage. When battery voltage fell, the measurement results decreased at least 0.01 aw. A warning of low voltage appeared at the instrument display significantly later after a decrease in aw was noted. |
